Get help to discern facts from fiction regarding nutrition information and understand how to incorporate healthy food choices easily into your lifestyle. Simple food demos follow each discussion. "Decoding Food Labels & Reducing Sugar, Fat, and Salt" and "Plant-Based Eating for Better Health: What You Need to Know."

Join us for a two-part nutrition education series which will help serve as a guide to discern fact from fiction regarding nutrition information. After the series, you will be able to understand how to incorporate healthy food choices easily into your lifestyle. Simple food demos follow each discussion.

Low fat, fat-free, low sodium, sugar-free- it is all so confusing! Learn what you are really getting in that food by exploring food ingredient labels. Manufacturers use healthy images and claims on packages that can be misleading. We will discuss how not to be deceived by food label claims.

Sugary and salty flavors are important to much of our processed food and can disrupt our feeling of fullness and cause us to eat more. We will discuss how to make room in our diet for healthy foods and provide tips on how to create healthy, tasty menu ideas for the whole family.

Are all plant- based foods healthy? These questions will be explored along with the importance of a plant-based diet for overall health and sustainability. Tips on eating more whole food, plant-based diet are included.
