Join us for a year filled with story times, pre-K programs & take-home activities thoughtfully designed to prepare your soon-to-be kindergartener for their first day!! 

Register before September 14 to attend one of our Dine and Discuss information sessions for parents and caregivers with a bilingual kindergarten teacher from the Patchogue-Medford school district! The Library has partnered with Gallo Restaurant, Buttermilk’s Kitchen and Axis Café to bring you these adult-only information sessions.

To Kindergarten & Beyond was created with the goal to guide children and parents towards a successful school experience & will include: 

  • Starter kit of school supplies & a pencil case that can be personalized in the Library Makerspace!
  • Monthly story times covering topics to strengthen academic, social & fine motor skills
    • alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, all about me, rhymes, patterns and opposites 
  • Monthly calendars highlighting age-appropriate library programs and activities for families to do at together at home
  • Tips for creating routines, cozy reading areas, and strengthening reading skills
  • Individual elementary school meet-ups called 'Playdates in the Park' will be starting this Spring

¿Su hijo comenzará el jardín de infantes en septiembre de 2023? Acompáñenos en un año lleno de horas de cuentos, programas de pre-kindergarten y actividades para llevar a casa cuidadosamente diseñadas para preparar a su niño para su primer día.  Inscríbase antes del 14 de septiembre para asistir a una de nuestras sesiones informativas de Cena y Discusión para padres y cuidadores con un maestro de kindergarten bilingüe del distrito escolar de Patchogue-Medford. La Biblioteca se ha asociado con el Restaurante Gallo, Buttermilk's Kitchen y Axis Café para ofrecerles estas sesiones informativas sólo para adultos. To Kindergarten & Beyond fue creado con el objetivo de guiar a los niños y padres hacia una experiencia escolar exitosa e incluirá:  Kit de inicio de materiales escolares y un estuche que se puede personalizar en el Makerspace de la Biblioteca. Tiempos de cuentos mensuales que cubren temas para fortalecer las habilidades académicas, sociales y de motricidad fina alfabeto, números, formas, colores, todo sobre mí, rimas, patrones y opuestos Calendarios mensuales que destacan los programas de la biblioteca apropiados para la edad y las actividades para que las familias hagan juntos en casa Consejos para crear rutinas, áreas de lectura acogedoras, y el fortalecimiento de las habilidades de lectura Reuniones individuales de la escuela primaria llamado 'Playdates en el Parque' se iniciará esta primavera.

Enjoy festive music while creating! Teens will be available to help crafting and wrapping gifts on Tuesdays, December 9 and 16 from 3-5 pm and Thursdays, December 11 and 18 from 4-6 pm.
