Spotlight on Vascular Health and Carotid Artery Disease

The carotid arteries are two main arteries that carry oxygen-rich blood from your heart, up through your neck to your brain. With age, plaque builds up, causing them to become narrow and stiffen. If left untreated, carotid artery narrowing can lead to stroke. Find out more with Dr. Dimitrios Virvilis from SBU's Dept. of Vascular Surgery. Attend in person or online.
