Learn the basic steps of Latin-style cha-cha dancing: triple step, basic step, and basic turn. No experience necessary and no partner required. Wear comfortable footwear.
The cha-cha is a lively, flirtatious Latin ballroom dance of Cuban origin, known for its rhythmic and playful energy. It features a distinct "cha-cha-cha" shuffle step and is often danced to upbeat music with a steady 4/4 beat. The dance was developed in the early 1950s by Cuban composer Enrique Jorrín, who added extra steps to the mambo, and its name is derived from the shuffling sound of the dancers' feet.
