The American Revolution was not only fought at Lexington and Concord. Long Island and our residents played a significant part in winning the final victory. From the Battle of Long Island to Nathan Hale and the Setauket spies, to whaleboat raids and the first Purple Heart award, Long Island played a role in winning the war for American independence.
